“I see my art and music as ways of sharing my vision of a world full of beauty, lasting quality, and peace.”

Artist Statement

My art and music incorporate my love of the outdoors, nature, and gardening. I love capturing the beauty, grace and color of the natural world. Inspiration can come from a trip to the mountains, a visit to the ocean, or a walk through the herb garden right outside my door. Sometime it appears as oil paintings, watercolors, and enameled pieces, other times I hear it as a tune, to be set down in music, and shared on the harp and other instruments.

My first artistic love was painting and collage, working in both realistic and semi-abstract forms. I discovered enameling “by accident” about 15 years ago, and was instantly enamored with the rich colors and variety of effects possible.

I became a musician at age 6, when I received my first piano. Since then I have added hammered and lap dulcimers, Native American flute, and harp to my life, with harp taking center stage. I see music as an opportunity to enter into a partnership with the listener, as we explore the world around us, relationships, thoughts and feelings.

I  see my art and music as ways of sharing my vision of a world full of beauty, lasting quality, and peace.
